Are you eating enough fruits and vegetables?
Do you think you are eating enough fruits and vegetables every day? Do you know the recommended servings of fruits and vegetables you should have per day? The current recommendation for adults is 1.5-2 cups of fruit per day and 2-3 cups of vegetables per day. Fruits and vegetables are excellent sources of fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Eating all the colors of the rainbow will give you the most variety of vitamins and minerals, so be sure to vary your choices! If you're like me, you aren't measuring out your fruits and vegetables to make sure you're hitting the recommended amount. While I may not eat the recommended amounts every day, I strive to include at least one fruit or vegetable serving with meals, if not both! You can easily get in a serving of fruits at breakfast if you make a smoothie or have yogurt, cold cereal, or oatmeal topped with fruit.
